Williamsport is best known as the home of Little League Baseball and welcomes the world to our backyard each year for the annual Little League World Series.

Lycoming County is home to the Minor League Philadelphia Phillies affiliate The Williamsport Crosscutters, and the birthplace of Little League baseball. Baseball is important to this area if you haven't noticed.

Once you're here, no matter where you go in Lycoming County, you'll find a lot to your liking ...not to mention plenty of down home comforts and urban excitement along the way.

The Williamsport Crosscutters are a short-season Class “A” affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Cutters play in the 14-team New York-Penn League. Williamsport stadium, Historic Bowman Field, built in 1926, is the 2nd oldest Minor League stadium operating in the United States.

Howard J. Lamade Stadium, South Williamsport
For most of the year Howard J. Lamade Stadium is empty, with minimal action during the summer. Until the Little League World Series, that is, when tens of thousands of fans fill the ballpark to cheer on the youth on the field. It is an amazing experience, to be sure.

Original Little League, Inc., Williamsport
Original Little League has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is known as "The Birthplace of Little League Baseball". Located on West Fourth Street near Historic Bowman Field, it was the "Home of the First 12 Little League Baseball World Series" from 1947 thru 1958. Park Point, which is close by, is the site where the first Little League game was played on June 6, 1939.
