Have a fun-filled time in Lycoming County.  Start off the quality family time with a hearty breakfast at Perkins.  After breakfast, why not visit the Thomas T. Taber Museum for some history and make sure to check out the Shempp Toy Train Exhibit, it is quite amazing.  After a visit to the museum, why not stop by the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, its sure to peak your interest.  After a morning of museum hopping, take the family to Clyde Peelings Repiland, which is one of the area's most unique zoos.  Make sure you check out the dinosaurs, butterflies and the newest addition the komodo dragons.   For a truly different family activity, why not try out Tree-ba dachi Climbing Academy.  The whole family will have a good time climbing.   Another great spot for kids is Treasure Castle Playland, an indoor playland.  After a full day of sightseeing, it's time for a little rest and relaxation, but before you rest your heads for the night, have a fun time at Hoopla's Family Fun and GrillNot only can you have a delicious dinner, but the whole family can play mini-golf, bowl and enjoy the arcade games.  Not ready to go to bed yet catch a game at Historic Bowman Field and see the Williamsport Crosscutters in action or visit Faxon Bowling for a fun family night of bowling.

Rise and shine, it's day two of family fun time in Lycoming County. Start your day off with a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  After everyone's tummy's are full, head over to the Little League Museum, after a huge renovation the museum is state of the art and full of surprises.  A visit to Williamsport is not complete without seeing the Little League Complex where the Little League World Series is played each year.  After a great time at Little League, why not take a cruise on the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat.  The Hiawatha departs from Susquehanna State Park and cruises the Susquehanna River with several departures a day.  They have a full calendar of events including concerts, ice cream socials, dinner and more.

In Lycoming County outdoor activities are plentiful.  As the largest county in Pennsylvania; there are campgrounds, trails for hiking, biking and ATV riding, areas for hunting, fishing, boating and more, so let's get started on our outdoor adventure.

Grab your bikes, hiking shoes and walking sticks and head to the Pine Creek Rail Trail, located in the picturesque Pine Creek Valley.  The Pine Creek Rail Trail is 62 mile trail once voted one of the "Top 10 Trails in the United States" by USA Today.  While in the Pine Creek Valley, make sure to get all your outdoor needs at McConnell's Country Store.  A stop at McConnell's is like a step back in time to an old fashion convenience store.  Camping opportunities are abundant in the Pine Creek Valley with Happy Acres Resort, Pine Creek Village and Little Pine State Park all at your fingertips.

Fishing opportunities are endless in Lycoming County, including lakes, rivers streams and creeks, we can accommodate any type of angler.  Rose Valley Lake, a 389-acre reservoir owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Popular fishing creeks within the county are Lycoming Creek, Pine Creek, Larry's Creek and Loyalsock Creek, all are ready for you to cast your reels.

Are you a fan of baseball?  Do you love the sound of the crack of a bat?  Well, Williamsport is the place for you.  Williamsport is known worldwide as the home of Little League Baseball.  Each year Williamsport welcomes the world to experience the Little League World Series.  Little League was founded in Williamsport in 1939 by Carl Stotz, so the first stop should be Original Little League, which is located on West Fourth Street.  Original Little League was the home of the first 12 Little League World Series.  Next stop is the Little League Museum, after a huge renovation the museum is state of the art and full of surprises.  A visit to Williamsport is not complete without seeing the Little League Complex where the Little League World Series is played each year.

Williamsport is also home to Historic Bowman Field, which is the home the Williamsport CrosscuttersHistoric Bowman Field, built in 1926, is the 2nd oldest Minor League stadium operating in the United States. It was voted by Baseball America as one of the best short-season "A" stadiums to watch a game. Williamsport has a rich professional baseball history dating back to the late 1800's.  The Williamsport Crosscutters are a short-season Class "A" affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Cutters play in the 14-team New York-Penn League.

Do you like history?  Want to learn as much as you can while on vacation?  Well, you have to the right place, Williamsport and Lycoming County is rich in history.  The first stop should be the Lycoming County Visitors Center where you can pick up some brochures on all our fabulous museums.  So, start off with a visit to the Thomas T. Taber Museum, which is the Historical Society of Lycoming County.  Here you will see all about our lumber heritage and the full history of our beautiful county.  Afterwards, take a leisurely walk through our Historic District, know as Millionaires' Row.  Millionaires' Row follows West Fourth Street and is full of beautiful Victorian Homes.  While in the district, make sure to visit the Rowley House Museum.  The Rowley House has been designated as one of the best examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  You might want to continue with the Victorian theme and have lunch at the Peter Herdic Inn, known as one of the best restaurants in the city.  Afterwards, cross over for a wine tasting at Eagle Rock Winery, which is located in another fabulous example of Victorian architecture.  Don't forget to stop in the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, where you can walk through one of the only remaining 1949 Pennsylvania Pullman Parlor cars.  Also check the Williamsport Trolley schedule, it's a great way to hear about our history. 

Still looking for more history on the area?  Take a short drive to Muncy and visit the Muncy Historical Society Museum.  The Muncy Historical Society has an amazing collection and a full schedule of programs, so make sure to check their calendar before you visit.  Another great stop is the Blooming Grove Historical Society, which is located at the Dunkard Meeting House.
